Meet The Makers

Birmingham and the Midlands has a long and proud history of production. Sir Abraham Darby first smelted iron ore with coke at Coalbrookdale launching the industrial revolution, not only in Britain, but worldwide. Great industrialists, scientists, engineers and designers transformed the world and the way we live. Their legacy lives on today.

Inspired by this history there is a whole new generation of Midlands Makers. They are entrepreneurs, designers and creators. They have ideas and make them into products for sale whilst at the same time shaping their own futures and that of others around them.

This year as part of Birmingham Made Me we are showcasing these Makers photographed by Edward Tritton, BA Photography, School of Visual Communication, Birmingham City University. Meet the Makers and learn about their businesses as they design and grow.
